“It’s stupid for anyone to ask of our campaign message. Mahama did a lot of projects when in power which they have abandoned, so which other message are they asking for? That is a message. Those projects they are a message.”Joshua Akamba said on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen program monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
The National Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) said he doesn’t understand why any Ghanaian especially the members of government and will ask a party which was in power four years ago of its message when all its achievements are very visible for all to see.
According to him, Mahama’s message is in the projects he built across the country but which have been abandoned by the ruling government who turn around to ask about message.
Mr. Akamba added that the elections will not be won on campaign messages, but based on the track record of former President John Mahama and President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Mr. Akamba is confident of a one-touch victory in the elections to rescue Ghanaians from the “thievery and corruption under the Akufo-Addo government.
The opposition party, seeking to return to power, has been mocked by the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for not having any campaign message ahead of the December general election.
A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, has said former President Mahama does not have any message for the 2020 elections.
Speaking in an interview with Paul Adom-Otchere on Good Evening Ghana Show on Metro TV last year, Gabby, who was the first Executive Director of pro-NPP policy analysis think tank, Danquah Institute, said, “When you look at all the research, it tells you that the main opposition candidate is not rising but clearly it appears that there is something about his record which I’m not too sure so I really wonder what his message will be.”
He said it would be difficult for Mr. Mahama and his NDC to project themselves as the messiahs of the economy after running same between 2012 and 2016.
