The Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Samuel Nettey George, has threatened to deal with some military personnel if the opposition National Democratic Congress wins power.
The NDC MP who was touring some registration centers in his constituency came upon a center in which an incident had occurred for which the security personnel around had dealt with successfully.
Not happy with the account given to him by the woman who had been at the centre of the issue, a visibly angry Sam George, at the top of his voice, threatened ‘I will deal with you when power changes hands’.
What was worse was the obvious disregard for the safety measures required of him in the midst of people since he was neither standing far away from the crowd nor wearing a face mask.
This blatant disregard for the safety protocols by the Member of Parliament, Sam George, runs contrary to the measures the Ghana Health Service has issued to all citizens in order to help in the containment of the spread of COVID-19.
It would be recalled that a little over a week ago, the MP for Tema West, Carlos Ahenkorah, was captured in photos visiting some registration centers when he had been diagnosed with COVID-19. The backlash that he received coerced him to resign from his position as a Deputy Trade Minister.
Sam George may not have been known to have tested positive for COVID-19, what he did was inconsistent with the laws on restrictions on movements for which the long arm of the law is expected to strike.
