VIDEO: When I came out as Bandana, Sarkodie was in JHS – Shatta Wale

– Shatta Wale has claimed that when he came onto the music scene as Bandana, Sarkodie was in JHS – The SM boss noted that Sarkodie perceives him as a new artiste when he just rebranded to become Shatta Wale in 2013 – He jabbed Sarkodie for trying to advise him when they met at Ghana Meets Naija in 2013 

Popular reggae and dancehall musician Shatta Wale has jabbed fellow musician Sarkodie following his recent feature with American singer Beyonce.

According to the self-proclaiming king of African dancehall, when he got on the music scene, Sarkodie was nowhere to be found.

In a video that was sighted by, Shatta Wale expressed disappointment at Sarkodie for trying to advise him. “I want to tell Ghanaians that me Bandana, I came out long time. When I came out, Sarkodie was in JSS or primary or in class six,” he stated. “He met me in 2013 at Ghana Meets Naija and he tried to advise me. I was like really, it is fame that has made him like that?,” he added. The ‘Gringo’ hitmaker noted that Sarkodie probably forgot that he was Bandana who just rebranded to become Shatta Wale recently. He recalled how the Sarkcess Music boss went behind him to sign a deal they had agreed not to sign until given a certain amount of money.

Shatta Wale’s comments followed a recent jab that he has thrown at Sarkodie after the latter congratulated him on his Beyonce feature. The Shatta Movement Empire boss alleged that Sarkodie was a hypocrite but only congratulated him for fame. He added that the Tema rapper feels he is the only big artiste in Ghana when he is actually not that big like he thinks. Meanwhile, Shatta Wale has asked Beyonce to shoot a video for her song that he has been featured on. In a tweet sighted by, Shatta Wale requested that Beyonce allow them shoot a video for their latest single titled ‘Already.’
