Two teachers of the KNUST Senior High School have been asked to step aside pending investigations into the death of a final year student.
The two, Seth Owusu Ansah, a Senior Housemaster and Anthony Awotwe, a housemaster for Densu House, where the deceased was a resident.
The directive follows the interdiction of the school’s headmistress, Felicia Asamoah Dankwaa, over the death of the said student.
A final year student lost his life on Tuesday following complaints of ill health – a suspected ulcer.
According to students, school authorities had neglected the deceased for hours, fearing he had contracted COVID-19.
Following the unfortunate incident, students went on a rampage in protest of the alleged “negligence by school authorities.”
The Ashanti Regional Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has since constituted a committee to look into the matter, awaiting approval from the Director-General of the GES to make the committee official.
