THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS THAT ONE CAN BE REMEMBERED FOR, BUT WITH JUNIOR AGOGO, HE WILL FOREVER REMAIN A DARLING IN THE HEARTS OF GHANAIANS FOR THIS ONE REASON.
Recall, Ghana was given the right to host the 2008 edition of the African Cup of Nations. The Black Stars in 2008 was bent on making history – host and win.
One thing that Agogo has left Ghanaians with is his performance in AFCON 2008.
Junior Agogo scored Ghana’s winning goal in the quarter final stage in a crucial game against West African side, Nigeria.
The game almost ended in a 1-1 draw, but Sulley Ali Muntari (11) found Junior Agogo in the box, who later converted the opportunity into a winning goal.
11 years after his goal qualified and promoted Ghana to the Semi-Final, Agogo has been reported dead but his goal still lives on and is fast trending on social media.
