They wanted to destroy me – GRA boss Col. Damoah recalls how NDC used Radio Gold to tarnish his image

Col. Kwadwo Damoah (Rtd) has told a heartbreaking story about how some moles in the Military used Radio Gold to peddle falsehood about him.

He indicated that prior to the 2008 elections that saw the NDC win eventually, there was a grand scheme in the Military to soil his hard earned reputation and Radio Gold was the medium used to push that ungodly agenda.

“They used Radio Gold to denigrate me. Before the 2008 general elections, Radio gold was used widely to destroy my reputation. I was accused on their platform of using a white pickup truck to distribute stuffed ballot papers at the Brong Ahafo region to favour then candidate Akufo-Addo. When the allegations were made, I was not even in Brong Ahafo region but in Accra. For this reason, senior officers in the military were sent to come and inspect my whereabouts”, he said.

Col. Kwadwo Damoah (Rtd) indicated that apart from the lies told about him been in the Brong Ahafo Region, the NDC through Radio Gold spread falsehood about him formenting trouble in the Northern Region when he was in Accra.

He said although the Military was aware of the moles leaking the fake information to Radio Gold, nothing was done to reprimand them for helping in the spread of falsehood.

“We knew the moles in the forces but when we reported the issue to the NPP, they turned a deaf ear to it”, he said.

To add salt to injury, he disclosed that the same media house said he had plans to kill the late former President Jerry John Rawlings in Tain when there was a run off.
