Supreme Court sets June 25 to deliver judgement on two cases against voters’ register

The Supreme Court has set Thursday, June 25 to deliver its judgement in the two cases filed against the EC’s decision to compile a new register.

This was after the court heard oral arguments from the parties in the case.

The two cases raise similar issues.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) and a resident of Breman-Kokoso in the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa District of the Central Region, Mark Takyi-Banson are seeking that the Apex Court exercises its power of interpretation and enforcement to compel the Electoral Commission to not compile a new register but to allow the use of the old voter’s ID card and birth certificate as proof of identification if it intends to do so.
