The presidency has received briefings about the alleged assault of the Ashanti Regional Coordinator of the National Security, DCOP (rtd) Kwaku Ayesu Opare Addo, MyNewsGh.com reports.
“The President is aware of every situation. I have informed him about it. Though, I couldn’t talk to him personally when I went to his office”, the retired senior police officer and private legal practitioner revealed on Kumasi-based Akoma FM morning show monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
The Ashanti Regional Security Coordinator, who was forcefully removed from office by some members of the Delta Force vigilante group narrated how he was handcuffed, assaulted and manhandled by the gangs.
According to the former Regional Police Commander, the gang which claimed to be officials of the National Security stormed the premises of his office for their illegal operation.
“I told them I will not go and immediately they handcuffed me. Eventually, the Ashanti regional security commander came in and I was freed so I reported the matter to the police.” the victim told host Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin.
DCOP Opare Addo however is unaware of what will happen to the gang that invaded his office since no one has communicated anything to him a week after the incident.
“I don’t know what action they’re going to take against them but I’ve reported the case to the police I was surprised that the guys came to my office and even handcuffed me but they were left to go without any arrest,” he fumed.
