Sammy Gyamfi Reveals The Purpose Behind Dr. Kpessah Whyte’s Evidence At The Supreme Court

Today at the Supreme Court of Ghana was the turn of Dr. Kpessah Whyte, a witness to the petitioner, John Dramani Mahama who was in the witness box for cross-examination.

On his account, he made it known that he was instructed by the first respondent, the chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa to go and consult the petitioner at the time when the first respondent was announcing the winner of the 2020 presidential election result.

Reacting to his testimony at the Supreme Court, Sammy Gyamfi has revealed the main reason behind Dr. Kpessah Whyte’s evidence.

According to Sammy Gyamfi, the purpose of Dr. Kpessah Whyte’s evidence was to demonstrate the bad faith, lack of candor and due process, displayed by Jean Mensah, in the collation and declaration of results, in violation of articles 23 and 296 of the 1992 Constitution.

Sammy Gyamfi has the great conviction that Dr. Kpessah Whyte did a great and a brilliant work during today’s cross-examination at the Supreme Court.

Dr. Kpessa-Whyte and Robert Joseph Mettle-Nunoo were the two representatives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at the “strongroom” of the Electoral Commission.

Former President John Dramani Mahama, the petitioner is in Supreme Court challenging the declaration of presidential election result made by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission and the First Respondent, Jean Mensa on the 9th of December 2020 and seeking the annulment of the result.

He is also seeking to instruct the First Respondent, the Electoral Commission to proceed to conduct a second election between the petitioner and the 2nd respondent as required under Articles 63 (4) and (5) of the 1992 constitutions.
