The owner of a popular furniture shop in his mid-forties at Ahodwo Roundabout within the Kumasi metropolis which was allegedly set a blazed by a mentally deranged person collapsed at the scene, MyNewsGh.com reports.
The man whose name was readily available could not stand the shock and the extent of damage caused to his investments as he looked on while firefighters and residents were seriously trying to douse the inferno.
According to MyNewsGh.com‘s Ashanti Regional Correspondent, personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) and few police maintaining security abandoned duty and attended to the shop owner lying prostrate and wailing uncontrollably.
He was overheard how he could overcome the loss incurred as a result of the unfortunate incident that started on Sunday morning which coincided with a day they do not work.
A number of completed products and others that were being manufactured have been reduced to ashes as a result of the fire
Fire fighters at the time MyNewsGh.com were leaving the scene were still trying to douse the inferno that has also consumed a pack of wood purchased by the shop owner for the production of beds, living room furniture among others according to the owners.
The assistant to the owner claims a mentally deranged man currently on the run, had set fire to cook food close to the shop but out of carelessness it sparked and light up the whole shop.
Attempts to douse the inferno proved futile as thick smoke which it started with suddenly burst into flames.
