President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is set to address the nation on measures taken against the spread of Covid-19 in the country this evening.
This is the 23rd time His Excellency will be updating the nation and with the aggressive nature in which he spoke in his 22nd update, most Ghanaians are already thinking of a possible second lockdown by the president.
The Address will be live on all major news networks within the country at exactly 8:00 pm. Some citizens are however pleading with the President not to announce a lockdown but rather impose strict measures to curb the virus.
Per the numbers that have been gathered from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) news portal, the Ashanti Region, Greater Accra, Volta Region, and Northern region remain the hotspots for the virus and look likely to be lockdown if there is the need.
Meanwhile, the Ghana Health Service (GHS) directorate’s new update confirms that Ghana’s COVID-19 active cases have seen a surge.
797 new cases have increased the country’s active cases to 4,665 as Ghana’s death toll now stands at 405 after previously been 390. In all, the total confirmed cases in the country are 65, 427 whiles 60, 357 clinical recoveries have been recorded.
There are calls on the President to place restrictions in order to control the spread of the virus in the country. The big question therefore on a trend is; President Akufo Addo To Announce Another Lockdown Tonight ?
