The murder of a lawmaker for Mfantseman Constituency, Hon. Ekow Hayford Quansah by suspected armed robbers is a wake-up call to all politicians across the political divide, Deputy Ashanti Regional Communications Officer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alex Kwaku Asafo Agyei has said.
“It must be a wake-up call to us as politicians. Isn’t it surprising for the robbers to shoot and kill the MP after he identified himself?” the NDC firebrand quizzed during panel discussion monitored by MyNewsGh.com on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM.
Hon. Ekow Quansah Hayford, the Member of Parliament for Mfantseman Constituency, in the Central Region was shot dead by unknown assailants while returning from a campaign trail, according to information.
There have been several accounts of how the late lawmaker encountered his killers before he was murdered at dawn while returning to his home from campaign activities
But the NDC executive had this to say “This should tell you the mindset of the youth. The politicians have taken the people for granted and I am also youth”
Member of Parliament (MP) for Mfatseman Constituency was shot dead on the Abeadze Dominase – Abeadze Duadzi – Mankessim Road while returning from a campaign trip of the area.
He is believed to have been attacked at about 1:00 am Friday October 9, 2020 by 6 armed highway robbers and was rushed to the emergency ward of Saltpond Municipal hospital dead.
