Assin Central Member of Parliament (MP), Kennedy Agyapong has opined that there are not many sensible people in the main opposition political party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking on Accra-based Happy FM, Kennedy Agyapong said the NDC hardly makes sensible comments on national policies because they don’t have many sensible people to speak on national issues.
“How many sensible people have you seen in the NDC? Which NDC person have you seen speaking sense since this COVID-19 started…?,” he said in the interview monitored by The BBC Ghana.
The vociferous MP further slammed the General Secretary of the NDC, Asiedu Nketia for claiming that the President lockdown the country so he can put together the rigging machinery for 2020 elections.
“This whole announcement of the emergency ban, emergency here, stopping this gathering, stopping that gathering, in my view, on the surface, it will appear to the world that the president is acting to deal with the COVID-19 and so on.
“But the real intention is not to deal with COVID-19 at all. The real intention is to find space to put the pieces of the rigging equipment together. So that by the time anybody could say jack, the election has been compromised,” Asiedu Nketia said.
This statement, Kennedy Agyapong said backs his claim that the NDC has fewer sensible people in the party.
“Which sensible person will utter some of the words Asiedu Nketia has been saying? The party only full of less sensible people and the problem is that the few sensible ones always take backstage…,” he added.
