MP who supports NEW voters register ‘cries’ uncontrollably against NEW delegates album in NPP primaries

Sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for the New Juaben South constituency on the ticket of the National Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mark Assibey-Yeboah has been ‘wailing’ and ‘crying’ the past couple of days over a new constituency album that could see him defeated in the upcoming NPP primaries.

Dr. Assibey Yeboah who strongly supports the Jean Mensah-led EC to compile a new voters register says when it comes to his upcoming primaries, a new album will not favour him.

Rather his opponent, Michael Okyere Baafi (MOB) who is tipped to win the upcoming primaries, will benefit from the new album.

Assibey Yeboah argued that the album could be skewed against him if Accra does not intervene.

He claimed unease is beginning to sweep through the constituency because of that decision not use a new Album.

Reports on the ground indicate majority of the constituency and branch executives are rooting for MOB while Assibey Yeboah fights against what he says is “an attempt to tamper” with the constituency album.

In a petition to Accra dismissed as bogus by the constituency executives, Dr. Assibey Yeboah argued that “the photo album/register which was used to elect the Constituency Executives in February 2018, shall be the same album which shall be made available to the NPVC and the Electoral Commission of Ghana for the conduct of the parliamentary primaries.”

“As a candidate in the upcoming election, I have a major interest and therefore implore you to use your good office to ensure that the sanctity of the constituency album that was used in the February 2018 election of constituency executives is preserved, and indeed same is used in the upcoming election.”

“It will be prudent to act as swiftly as possible in this matter to help stem the current unease that is beginning to sweep through the constituency,” he stated.
