The first gentleman of the newly created Ahafo Region, who represents the people of Asunafo North Constituency as their legislator, Hon. Evans Opoku-Bobie and the Minister for Railway and Development, who is the member of parliament for Essikado Ketan Constituency, Hon. Joe Nana Kobina Akwa Ghartey visited the bereaved families of the late Ahafo Regional Chairman, Francis Sarfo Opoku popularly known as Jerry and Salifu Musah a. k. a. Shankus. Saturday 6th July, 2019 became a saddest day for Mother Ghana, the New Patriotic Party and the entire people of Ahafo Region.
The 50-year-old NPP Ahafo Regional chairman was driving a Toyota Land Cruiser with registration number GT 3150-17 from Acherensua to Hwidiem when the accident occurred at a section of the road. Chairman Jerry and the 29-year-old Shankus died on arrival at the St. Elizabeth Catholic Hospital in the Ahafo Region.
Hon. Bobie and Hon. Joe Ghartey dangled into a voluminous pool of palpitation with the bereaved families of the two deceased. The two Ministers couldn’t hold their tears but they tried hard and consoled the grief families.
The Ahafo Regional Minister assured the families of their full support and urged them to take heart because,it is a great lost to the immediate family, NPP, Ahafo and Ghana.

The Ministers were accompanied by the MMDCs within the Region, NPP Ahafo Regional 2nd vice chairman and other important personalities. The first ever Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Evans Opoku-Bobie released a countless sigh of relief,
