Live updates: Information Ministry holds press conference on Covid-19 rapid testing plans, other matters

The Information Ministry is addressing the nation on a number of issues, key among them Ghana’s Rapid Diagnostic Testing (RDT) plans for the Covid-19.

The press conference will also brief the nation on guidelines on face masks as well as progress made with coronavirus surveillance and case management.

The event is taking place at the Ministry of Information Press Centre and is being coordinated by the Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah.

Today’s briefing, which is being broadcast nationwide via the state-owned Ghana Television, will address three main topics:

  1. Guidelines on masks
  2. Progress on RDT testing plans, and
  3. Surveillance and case management
  • Since March, the Information Ministry has been holding regular press briefings on Ghana’s progress in the fight against the new coronavirus that has so far infected some 2, 719 persons and claimed the lives of 18 others.
