Kasoa Murder: More committed suspects pop up in police investigations

The Central Regional Police Command has revealed that, their investigations into the killing of the 10-year-old Class Four pupil of the Maranatha School, Ishmael Mensah last Saturday is becoming fruitful as more names of more committed suspects linked to the crime are popping up.

“During our interrogations with the children, we have come to realized that, we can get other committed suspects in the killing”. DSP Irene Oppong, Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Central Regional Police said this in an interview with Hello FM in Kumasi monitored by MyNewsGh.com

DSP Irene Oppong’s comment comes while cautioning the general public from applying what they call instance justice to people who commit various crimes in their communities.

According to her, killing people for committing a crime does not help the police in their investigations especially matters relating to criminal activities.

The 10-year-old boy, was found dead in an uncompleted building at Kasoa. Later, news emerged that he was murdered by his friends Felix Nyarko, and Nicholas Kini, for money rituals.

Meanwhile, the Ofaakor District Magistrate Court presided over by Her Lordship Mrs Rosemond Vera Ocloo on Tuesday remanded into police custody the two teenagers who allegedly killed a 10 year old boy last Saturday.

This according to the court is to allow the police to conduct more investigations into the matter after the suspects were charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Police investigators have also confirmed the arrest of the spiritualist who they say is key to investigations at Amanase near Suhum in the Eastern Region

The suspects are to reappear on April 20, 2021.
