Per the document availabe has it that the Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Hajia Alima Mahama has confirmed the dismissal of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Amansie South in the Ashanti region, William Asante Bediako.
This comes after whistleblower’s news from the Presidency detailed that, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on Thursday afternoon, was “upset and embarrassed” at the fact that his appointees openly endorsed ‘galamsey’.
Notwithstanding, our report has bee followed up with a press release issued and signed by Hon. Alima Mahama, the President has nominated Clement Opoku Gyamfi as the new DCE for Amansie South.
Meanwhile, Abdul-Muumin Issah replaces the late Dr. K.K. Sam, who succumbed to COVID as the Metropolitan Chief Executive for Sekondi-Takoradi.
Barima Awuah Sarpong Asiedu-Larbi has also been nominated as the Municipal Chief Executive for Akuapim North in the Eastern region who has also been sacked
The appointment of the three by the President, according to the Minister, is “accordance with article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and section 20(1) of the Local Government Act, (Act 936)”.
The regional minister for Western, Ashanti and Eastern have therefore been “requested to liaise with the Regional Electoral Commission to conduct the confirmation process of the nominated Chief Executives”.
