President Akufo-Addo has requested for prayers from the newly elevated Savannah Regional Chief Imam, Alhaji Osman Mahama in order for him to be successful in the discharge of his presidential duties.

The President made this request at the house of the Chief Imam when he paid a courtesy call on him as part of his two-day tour of the Savannah Region.

Speaking at the house of Alhaji Osman Mahama, President Akufo-Addo congratulated him on his elevation to become the Savannah Regional Chief Imam, an event that took place at the latter part of last year. He, therefore, wished him success in all his endeavours as the regional chief Imam.

“I have come here to, first of all, congratulate you on your elevation as the Regional Chief Imam and also to ask for God’s blessing on your ministry. I was a good friend of your predecessor and I’m hoping I will be a good friend to you as well,” President Akufo-Addo said.

President Akufo-Addo indicated that one of his main motives for the courtesy call was to request prayers from the Chief Imam in the discharge of his duties as the President of Ghana.
