Hints drop as Akufo-Addo delivers ‘very serious’ address today over spike in COVID-19 cases

The President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is expected to address the country today on measures taken to address COVID-19 in the country.


The President is expected to give an update on measures taken by government to ensure the safety of children of school going age as they reopen on January 18, 2021.

Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will be expected to also give an update on the rise in the number of persons who have tested positive for the virus since the last time he addressed the country.


This address will be the President’s 22nd since Ghana recorded cases of COVID-19.

Currently, Ghana’s death toll sits at 341 with the countries active cases been 1,404 after recording 175 new cases.
