A 108-year-old has requested for a decent 6-bedroom house before agreeing to the demolition of his house to make way for Railways construction.
Madam Hana Sesi Abla of Juapong in the North Tongu district of the Volta Region has been served an eviction notice by the Ghana Railway Development Agency to vacate her house to pave way for the construction of Railway in the Volta Region.
Speaking to Joynews Madam Abla says others have been compensated but her compensation isn’t good enough to buy another 6-bedroom else.
She has therefore rejected the compensation and asking for a new building similar or better than the one her children built foe her.
I want the government to pay good money for my son to build another place for me. I’m an old lady, my children built this place for me some time ago, now I am really worried about the news of demolishing.
“Meanwhile, we built here before the coming of the project and it’s not the other way round…I’m now sick over this development,” she stated.
