Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA), Frimpong Addai has revealed that a total of GhS147m in cash was burnt away in the fire that ripped the head office of the Ghana Revenue Authority at Kwame Nkrumah Circle on Sunday morning.
He said that the money was supposed to be sent to the bank on Friday but uncompleted accounting made them unable to sent the money.
He added that the bankers were scheduled to have the money picked up on Monday morning.
He however said that a committee has been set to investigate the course of the fire outbreak.
“The bankers were coming for them this Monday and it’s very unfortunate that this has befallen the nation just a day to Monday”, he said
