Ghanaian gospel singer Sonnie Badu has asserted that there will be no peace in Ghana if the name of ‘Kotoka international Airport’ is not changed.
Sonnie Badu’s assertion was a reaction to controversial musician A Plus’ social media post regarding why General Kotoka shouldn’t be celebrated for overthrowing Kwame Nkrumah, who gained independence for Ghana.
A plus in his submission describes General Kotoka as the main problem of Ghana since independence adding that Ghanaians are ungrateful for naming the airport after him.
A plus shared a photo of Kwame Nkrumah and Kotoka spotted together with the caption:
““Ghana’s main problem since independence is this guy, general EK Kotoka, the guy who led the overthrow of Kwame Nkrumah…. I wonder why our airport is still named after him…. It shows that we don’t know what we lost or appreciate what Nkrumah did for us. Ungrateful people.”

Sonnie Badu reacting to A Plus’ post stated that Ghana will never have peace until the name of Kotoka International Airport is changed.
“And he is sitting at the gateway to Ghana … well you just solved the problem…until the name is changed Ghana will never have their peace… The one who got is independence should have his name at the airport.”
