George Floyd’s 6yr old daughter shouts ‘daddy changed the world’ in emotional video

In the touching video shared on Instagram, GiGi Floyd is seen smiling as she proudly shouts George Floyd “changed the world” while she sits on his friend’s shoulders

In a heartwarming video, George Floyd’s young daughter is seen shouting “daddy changed the world” in tribute to the black man who died at the hands of a cop.

The clip shows Gianna “GiGi” Floyd, 6, smiling proudly as she sits on ex-basketball pro Stephen Jackson’s shoulders, the man who has been campaigning for justice since the killing of his longtime friend, George.

Stephen has been vocal about his friendship with George, often referring to him as “twin” in his social media posts and vowing to get justice.

In the Instagram post which has been posted on Stephen’s account, Gianna can be seen holding the former NBA star’s hand.

The video is captioned: “That’s right GiGi, Daddy changed the world, George Floyd the name of change.”

Another post where Stephen is giving Gianna a piggyback says: “Don’t worry Twin on my soul I got GiGi. Know dat. I am my brothers keeper and I got a lot of brothers. #justiceforgeorgefloyd.”

Yesterday Gianna’s mum called for justice in an emotional press conference in Minneapolis, which took place eight days after the killing.

Standing with her daughter, Roxie Washington, 46, said: “I don’t have a lot to say, I can’t get the words together right now.

“I want everyone to know that this is what those officers took from me.

“At the end of the day, they get to go home and be with their families. Gianna does not have a father. He will never see her grow up, graduate, he will never walk her down the aisle.

“If there’s a problem and she needs her dad, she does not have that anymore.

“I’m here for my baby and I’m here for George because I want justice for him.

“He was good, no matter what anybody thinks, he was good. This is the proof.”

She also reminisced the moment when Gianna was born and said George “was so happy to have her”.

Roxie added: “He slept the whole time I was in labour, but when he heard her cry, he woke up.

“I still have a picture of him waking up and getting his baby. He loved her. He loved her so much.”

George Floyd was killed after being pinned to the ground by his neck, as four officers tried to arrest him.

His death has sparked protests across the world as unrest grows about alleged police brutality against black people.
