Even if I’m jailed for contempt, how long will I be in jail? – Ken Agyapong asks critics

Businessman and Lawmaker Kennedy Agyapong has responded to critics who want him to be jailed in his contempt case.

According to him, he will not be bothered even if he is jailed because for a contempt case, he is not sure he will be in jail for long.

“I want to be sitting in my house and enjoying. Those who want to be President should just give me jobs to do and stop the envy. Even when I’m jailed for how long will I be in jail for?” the Assin Central Lawmaker asked.

To him, what baffles him is the fact that some members of his own political party are calling his lawyer to leave the case so he is jailed.

“All those calling my lawyer that I should be left alone to be jailed, the case is not over so I am not going to say anything about it. If you are not brave you won’t support the NPP because I have NPP members calling my lawyer to ask him why he won’t leave me so I get jailed,” he stated

To him, these people are of the view that he wants to be a President’; a view he sees as needless because he wants to be an industrialist who will be opening businesses and making good money and not chase political positions.

“They are saying I want to become president, me Kennedy Agyapong. Just give me work so I can make some cash and open industries. If you know the industries I am putting up, I want be president of Tema (industrial area) instead. Those who want to be president are there, just give me contracts, case closed. Stop the envy and asking that I be jailed, for contempt how long will I even be jailed for?” he questioned.
