EC to begin prison inmates registration, continue with SHS

The Electoral Commission will on Saturday, July 18, 2020, begin registration of eligible prison inmates across the country for the new voter’s Identification Card.

The Commission will also continue with the two-day registration for eligible Senior High School students which was held on the 10th and 11th of July.

In a statement on Friday, July 17, 2020, the Commission urged all qualified persons within the said institutions to cooperate with them to make the exercise successful.

“The Electoral Commission wishes to inform the general public that the registration for eligible senior high school students, as well as that of prison inmates across the country, will take place on Saturday, 18th July 2020.

“The Commission will continue with the Registration Exercise at the Senior High Schools because it was unable to complete the Exercise on the 10th and the 11th of July due to a large number of Applicants,” parts of the statement read.
