The Eastern Regional Minister Mr. Kwakye Darfour has hinted of plans by the authorities to intensify contact tracing in the region.
The Minister told Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5Fm that, the region’s cases have moved from 94 to 95.
Mr. Darfour assured residents contact tracing would be intensified to ensure more samples are collected for testing.
He said health authorities will deploy a process to identify persons who may have come into contact with the infected persons and subsequently collect further information about these contacts.
He urged residents to constantly wash their hands with soap for over 20 seconds and wash them under running water, use alcohol based sanitisers, keep a distance of, at least, two metres from people they interacted with and sneeze into tissues and immediately dispose them off.
The ban on all social gatherings in the region he stated would be strictly enforced and anyone found to have violated it would be sanctioned.
