Authorities of Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) have warned the general public in the capital to avoid unnecessary visits, driving and walking through the hospital in the wake of outbreak of coronavirus pandemic.
“If you do not have any peculiar thing to do at Komfo Anokye, don’t even drive through”. The Chief Executive Officer of the KATH Dr. Oheneba Danso has said amidst the closure of Out Patient Department (OPD) services
According to him, this and other measures put in place will prevent the danger that passerby’s may be exposed to at the facility as the country fights against coronavirus.
So far, Ghana has recorded its seventh case of the virus.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based Pure FM monitored MyNewsGh.com Dr. Oheneba Danso accepted the fact that the hospital’s decision may seem uncomfortable to people of the region adding “because it is a hospital, it sometimes becomes difficult in controlling people’s movement. He told Kwame Adinkra the host.
“We are taking this opportunity to advise that, if you do not have any peculiar thing to do at Komfo Anokye, don’t even drive through. All you need to do is drive behind the facility and go to wherever you want to. All caesarean sections would be attended to” he added.
Explaining other measures put in place at the facility Dr. Danso noted that all emergency service will continue to run. “Anyone with sickness that needs to be attendant to immediately must come to Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital. Nothing prevents you”
