CONFIRMED: UEFA Champions League to resume on August 7

The 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League will resume on 7th August 2020 after UEFA Executive Committee held a meeting to decide on future of the season, ABC Sports can confirm.

This season’s UEFA Champions League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be fiercely contested as a straight knockout tournament in Lisbon, Portugal in August.

Instead of two-legged games, all matches will be played in a single-leg.

The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will be hosted between Benfica’s Estádio do Sport Lisboa and Estádio José Alvalade.

The Estádio do Dragão in Porto and the Estádio D. Afonso Henriques in Guimarães will host the four outstanding round of 16-second legs if required.

A decision is pending on whether or not teams will be made to play their remaining games at their home grounds.

The 2019/20 UEFA Champions League has been on suspension since Wednesday 11 March due to the coronavirus outbreak.
