Central University has reduced the fees of its students for the 2020/2021 academic year due to the adverse effect of the Coronaviru.s pandemic on the economy and livelihoods of Ghanaians.
The university which has a population of over 7000 students says the reduction in fees is to cushion and provide support for parents and students.
According to the management of Central University, they have approved varying percentage reduction of fees for programmes in its eight schools.
International freshmen and women will be enjoying comprehensive fee reductions ranging from 6 per cent to 55 per cent.
In addition, Ghanaian students will enjoy fee reduction for most programmes and general freezing of last year’s fees for the rest of the programmes.
Meanwhile, students of the University of Ghana are demanding a partial refund of their academic and residential fees from authorities.
But an educationist and president of Educate Ghana Summit, William Boadi has called on authorities of the University of Ghana to ignore the students’ pleas.
