Breaking: Freedom At Last As State Withdraws Charges Against Ernesto Yeboah

The state has withdrawn the charges of breach of public order against Ernesto Yeboah, the Founder and Commander-In-Chief of the Economic Fighters’ League. My News Ghana has established

The Accra Circuit Court 10 has accordingly has discharged him.

Ernesto Yeboah was arrested and charged with breaching the public order act following a vigil his group organized in June last year in honor of 46-year-old American, George Floyd, who was killed by Minnesota police.

The group held the vigil at Independence Square but the Police disrupted the event saying it was in breach of the Public Order Act.

Appearing in court today, Monday, March 15, 2021, the Prosecutor, Chief Inspector, Emmanuel Haligah, told the court that the State was no longer interested in pursuing the charges.

The court then struck out the case and discharged Ernesto Yeboah.
