The entire Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Police Command building is on a timebomb waiting to collapse.
The police building has been a death trap for the police personals in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District, Ajumako has been the District Police Head Quarters.
The Entire Ajumako Enyan Essiam District is having only 29 Police Men which according to them is very small as compared to over 700,000 Population people living in the District.
In an interview with Central Regional Soireenews correspondent, Abusuapanyin Kojo Ahinful, the Chief Superintendent Stephen Tetteh the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Police Commander has revealed that all the police building, both where they sleep and the police building is in a deplorable state and need to be renovated immediately else it may collapse any moment from now.
All their washrooms have been closed down due to their bad structure and cracks on the building causing fear and panic to the police Personals in the area.
Again, the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District is having only 29 Police Personnels which According to them now not enough for them.
“We sometimes had to ignore some operational duties due to inadequate Police Personals, our Numbers are small so it makes us difficult to attend to all our hotspot area to fight Criminals according to some policemen”
“The Working Condition in the Ajumako District Police Command here is very terrible which need an immediate attention else Ghanaian will wake-up one day and will not hear good news from Ajumako District Police Command as our building is on timebomb”
We sometimes had to use our own pocket money to hire a vehicle to attend our duties, which according to our work is not done anywhere due to inadequate police vehicles.
They said the entire Ajumako Enyan Essiam District Police Command is having only one police vehicle which is not enough as compared to the total population of the people in the District.
The, therefore, calling on the Government, Inspector General of Police, and Non-Governmental Organizations to come to assist themselves renovate their building for them.
They also appealed to the Inspector General of Police to supplying them with Police Personals to make their work easy and faster to be able to fight Criminals and attend to their duties.
Some police personals who refuses to talk to me also said, out of the 29 Police Men in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District over 10 of them are on leave 7 of them are on the transfer list waiting for transfer will reduce their Police Personals drastically.
