Member of Parliament(MP) for the Bolgatanga East Constituency Dominic Ayine has asked his opponent in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to arrest any individual even if that person is a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) seen defacing his posters.
An aide to the New Patriotic Party’s Bolgatanga East Constituency Parliamentary Candidate, Hon Emmanuel Abugre Abole, Adugbire Cletus in a post on Facebook blamed the NDC for defacing posters belonging to the NPP.
But speaking to Bolgatanga-based A1 Radio in an interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Dominic Ayine denied knowledge of people defacing the posters of his opponent.
To him, he is against such practices because he was a victim when he first decided to contest the seat in 2012 and has as such asked his followers to desist from that if they are involved in anything of a sort.
“Political party law which makes it a crime for you to disfigure a political party’s billboard so I advise that they should be on the look out and if they arrest somebody and the person is an NDC person, I’m not going to look for bail for such a person because I’ve already told them that is a no go area for me. What will win us the elections is not the disfigurement of the posters of our opponent. It is our message and the work that we have done in Bolga East that will do it for us,” he said on A1 Radio in an interviewed monitored by MyNewsGh.com.
