Alleged Coup plot: We have dangerous idiots in Ghana – Gabby Otchere-Darko

Private legal practitioner and a high ranking member of the governing New Patriotic Party, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko says there is a slim chance for a coup plot to succeed in the country, despite suggestions by a number of people that no such thing is possible in the country at this time, ABC News can report.
Though Mr. Otchere-Darko admits that the country’s security apparatus is up to the task in dealing with any such attempt adding that the days of coups in Ghana may be long gone, the lawyer is of the view that there remains a potential threat, regardless of how slim it may be, hence the need for all to pay serious attention to the development and not ridicule its sensitive nature.
In a series of tweets, Mr. Otchere-Darko maintains that “social media coup experts” need not ridicule the claim of an attempted coup.
“After 15 months of surveillance, police say they have enough evidence about an alleged plot to attack the President, etc. Arrests made, including soldiers, probably confessions extracted. But, the “social media coup experts” are quick to ridicule it all”.
He tweeted again, “Ghana left coups behind decades ago. The prospect of a coup succeeding in Ghana is as remote as one in UK – ask Boris! But, that does not mean we don’t have dangerous idiots who believe they can dream it and try their luck”.
